  2. Only Labour Day (01 May) is mandatorily non-working and paid for all employees. Whit Monday remains a statutory holiday but may be worked in some organisations as the designated solidarity day.
  3. French law provides no substitute day for weekend holidays: Assumption Day (Sat 15 Aug) and All Saints' Day (Sun 01 Nov) are not made up in 2026. The Alsace-Moselle departments observe two additional holidays (Good Friday and 26 Dec).
