Notes & Sources

  1. Directorate-General of Personnel Administration, Executive Yuan, 2026 (ROC year 115) government administrative calendar, approved Jun-25: dgpa.gov.tw. The calendar applies to government agencies; private-sector observance follows the Labor Standards Act.
  2. Holidays falling on a Saturday are made up on the preceding working day, and those falling on a Sunday on the following working day. The 9-day Lunar New Year block (14-22 Feb) includes the eve of the eve (Sun 15 Feb), the eve (Mon 16 Feb), the first three days of the new year (Tue-Thu 17-19 Feb) and a substitute day (Fri 20 Feb).
  3. From 2026, Taiwan no longer schedules makeup workdays: weekend-overlapping holidays are compensated with substitute days off only, so 2026 is the first full year with no working weekends. 2026 is also the first year Labour Day applies nationwide to all sectors.
