Each of the 17 autonomous communities and the cities of Ceuta and Melilla add further holidays of their own (up to four more), not listed here.
- Spain applies no national substitute day when a holiday falls on a weekend. In 2026 All Saints' Day (Sun 01 Nov) and Constitution Day (Sun 06 Dec) fall on a Sunday; individual communities may designate a substitute.
- Maundy Thursday (02 Apr) is a holiday in most but not all autonomous communities and is not part of the national set.
